I just wanna go on more adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people. Learn new things. Grow.
You are going...on your own? Just you? Can`t you find a friend? Why would you want to travel for one month... Alone? To many of the travellers I meet, I do not have to explain it, but to my colleagues, friends and family it is a bit of a mystery. Why would someone leave everything behind and go to a place you have never been with people you have not met. Isn`t that wildly uncomfortable and unnecessarily far outside your comfort zone?
Yes, sometimes it is. When you board the plane alone, or when you are lost in a big city or getting scammed by a TukTuk driver, or when you arrive in a dorm with 12 people you have never met. But then you discover... It is exactly those people, those connections you make in that dorm that make it worthwhile.
The girl you meet when you try to take another ridiculous selfie and who offers to take it for you. The couple you meet on the sleeper train and share cookies with. It is the girl that you tell about the things that worry you while sharing a curry. It`s making a ride on a motorbike with someone you have known for 10 minutes. It is climbing 1200 steps together to see the Tiger Temple Cave and sharing a mars bar at the top as a reward.
It is girls from Las Vegas that teach you your first drinking game. It is snorkelling and pretending you are sharks. It is offering a cookie and a coffee on the boat. It is sharing your medicine if you feel sick after it. It`s giving out your last after sun and applying sun screen on each other`s back. It is listening to music on the boat together while basking in the afternoon sun. It is making jokes about MnM`s. It is the people who ask how your PADI is going and congratulate you after getting it. It is about being alone together. It is about meeting dreamers, getting inspired and sharing passion.
It is the people you meet. The connections you make unexpectedly that stay with you. That teach you something or show you something else and change the way you look at things.
Blessed are the curious, for they will have adventures.
