In this blog I share the inner twirls of my mind, dreams, worries and what else I feel like laying on my readers, who are mostly my friends I guess.

Hope you all enjoy it!

So let's go universe! We can do it. I trust in us.

Life makes many twists and twirls. We go up and down, left and right and feel dizzy in between. There is nothing more true for me than that. In one instance, one event, your life can turn around completely in both the positive and the negative way. It can be a person that you meet, a realization you make, an event that changes your mind or a destiny that calls upon you suddenly like a whisper awakening the soul. Sometimes we have a full life, but miss that one thing that would make it great in our mind.

The past year and a half I look for that one thing fervently. Passionately. Under every stone and in every corner of my life. Only to realize that the one thing I was missing in my life was trust. I was so worried about not living my life to the fullest that that was exactly what I did. In my search, or rather hunt for 'the best life' I stressed myself out. Pressured myself. What next? Where will you look next? Good, better, best.

Then I met someone who changed the way I look at life.

He was studying on a bench near the river. A refugee from Syria. Busy learning Dutch and speaking out loud to himself. We met, we talked and he told me his story. He swam across the sea from Turkey to Greece, travelled through Europe looking for shelter and arrived in Belgium three weeks later. Here he applied for citizenship and waited for 5 months in a refugee center. There he slept with other refugees, ten of them packed together in one room. Now he is following language courses and living in a small apartment filled with second hand furniture.

In Syria he was on the national athletics team, had a degree in physical education and physiotherapy. Here has near to nothing. He has lost his family, lives in a country where he cannot speak as he would want, does not find the words to express himself, and has to ask for help all the time. So for now he had to be patient with himself, with the world, with his faith.

And if he finds the strength to be patient with himself, so can I.

So let's go universe! We can do it. I trust in us.
