In this blog I share the inner twirls of my mind, dreams, worries and what else I feel like laying on my readers, who are mostly my friends I guess.

Hope you all enjoy it!

Memoires of a geisha

Memoires of a geisha

A short summary

A historic novel set in the beautiful Japan, memoires of a geisha takes you to a different world, where mystery awaits you.

Memoires of a geisha features two sisters torn apart by destiny. One will become a geisha, and one will become a prostitute. The book follows the youngest sister, Chiyo, wanting to become a Geisha. A girl with deep blue eyes, a rarity in Japan, which leads her down an unexpected path.

The world of a Geisha is hard, and Chiyo often stumbles and falls down her road to her destiny. Then one day she meets a man that will change her life.

My review

I loved Memoires of a Geisha when I was 16. Misfortune, followed by mystery and potential love, followed by more misfortune and eventual bliss. Aren't we all crossing our fingers for that? I still love it when I reread it, but it has lost some of its impact. If you like an easy and gripping read, you cannot go wrong with Memoires of a Geisha. Especially if you are on your period. (Or manstruationg for the men). If you are looking for a more layered read, you might not be fully satisfied.

You get a glimpse of (widely accepted & portayed) history of Japan, mixed in with real human emotions and circumstances. In the end, you might only need a couple of day or a week to finish it and then it is well worth your time.

I say... go for it!

PS: There is a movie
PPS: The guy from The Last Samurai (!!) is in it
